Day 3 Grundy Lake Provincial Park
Posting the last blog entry was painful, especially for
someone not so patient when technology doesn’t work for me. No matter! This holiday
is all about Zen, so on we go.
Some days are adjustment days so today was some of that.
Adjusting to uncooperative technology…nope, moving on! Adjusting to some
trailer chores and adjusting because our SMART watches told us to take a rest
day! More than 15,000 steps yesterday. LOL! They haven’t seen that much action
in two years! So today the plan was to
only hike the campground and take one 5.2km hike.
Since David will be away for Father’s Day and his BIG
birthday, before we left, Jeffrey, Nancy and the kids gave him a Blackstone
grill. Today seemed like a great day to season that and get it ready for
action. He was his typical happy self playing with a new toy! I caught up on my
reading and am looking forward to some tasty smash burgers.
Our hike wasn’t quite as long as we hoped. We only managed about 4km before we feared being carried off by mosquitos and hightailed it back to the campsite. Still totally worth it for the time we had.
Dinner and a cutthroat game of Hearts (I won!) ended our
day. We did have to take a brief pause in the game as we watched the sky turn
pink and reflect its glory in the lake. On our way back I glanced at my wrist
and realized that our “easy day with a shortened hike” netted 14,979 steps!
Glad we decided to take it easy today!
